The toe inspection hole allows for easy monitoring of blood circulation. The thigh-high model includes a silicone-lined elastic band to prevent slipping without affecting the pressure profile, while the waist-belted model features an adjustable elastic waistband and soft inner seams for a comfortable, secure fit. Made with OEKO-Tex 100 certified hypoallergenic materials, these stockings minimize any risk of skin irritation. • Severe leg edema or lung edema due to congestive heart failure
• Extreme leg deformity

The Role of Compression in Preventing Deep Vein Thrombosis

Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) refers to the formation of a blood clot within the deep veins, posing serious health risks if left untreated. When a clot (thrombus) forms in a deep vein, it can dislodge and travel through the bloodstream to the lungs, causing a life-threatening blockage. DVT is often triggered by damage to the vein walls, increased blood clotting tendency due to factors such as certain cancers or oral contraceptives, and slow blood flow in the veins. Immobilization from prolonged bed rest, long-distance travel, or other causes of muscle inactivity can also increase the risk of DVT.

DVT symptoms include leg swelling, pain, warmth, and tenderness, especially in the calf or thigh. As blood clots heal, they may cause scarring in vein valves, leading to fluid buildup and edema. Depending on the extent of the obstruction, swelling may spread to the leg and thigh, worsening as the day progresses.
